Heading East
We spent our evening at the local Returned Services club where had our evening meal. Thursday night is draw night so most of the town is there for a feed and to socialise. It was a good feed but next time we get there early to put our order in.
After a good night's sleep we continued out journey east. We left at 7AM , forgetting we would be heading into the morning sun. Ann was driving the first leg so it was a hard slog for her until around 830 AM.
The drive was particularly challenging because of the road condition. The edges of the sealed surface were poorly maintained and sections of the road had melted and moved from the constant high temperatures ad heavy vehicle traffic. For a major highway it is in pretty poor shape.
The further we travelled east the greener the scenery and the better the road condition. Before long we were at West Wyalong. This is an old country town with some beautiful old buildings adorning the main street.
Ironically on the eastern side there is a glass studio and metal art gallery next to each other. It was almost like it was meant for us to call in. We would have if they were open, so I guess that means we have to come back again one day.
Further down the road we had a driver swap at Grenfell and then on to Carcoar for a leg stretch and toilet stop. This is know as the town time forgot and it's easy to see why. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

We arrived at the Sky Rider motel at 2PM and checked into our room. After we unpacked we went back to the Leura Cascade to find the tree where we got married. We had to stop a little way away as the road was closed. A short walk down the hill and we found the tree fenced off while work was being done. We did manage to sneak in and get a photo and Ann opened her heart to me about the past 10 years. Just being here with her 10 years down the track and thinking about what we have done is pretty awesome. Also being here at the same time we married was pretty special. I have no doubt that we will be back again in another 10 years celebrating again.

We made our way back to the car and headed to the 3 sisters viewing area. As usual the crowds were there and we got some very helpful information from the visitor centre to plan our day tomorrow. It's going to be a big one!
